Hobbie's Wizard School Vests

In fact, soon after we opened the doors to Hobbie's House of Wizard Wear in 2002, the vest quickly became the #1 "special customizing request" from all wizards who live in warmer climates.

Vests are a cool alternative to the long-sleeved wizard school sweater when you consider that most Cons take place during summer months when long sleeves are not really needed.

The new school vest is darker - a dark charcoal grey that is almost black. This charcoal grey has lots of character and it's an ideal background for the new, contrasting trim colors.

These new "house" colors are darker and richer too...maroon and old gold, a dark "forest" green with pewter grey, a dark "marine" blue with silver grey and old gold with black.

Nothing has changed at Wizard School however. The corridors and classrooms are still drafty; there is still a chill in the air so you'll be glad to know that even the new school vest, knit in a sports-weight wool yarn, will keep you warm and toasty.

Wool is an incredible, natural fiber. It holds its shape and color too. However, we do recommend dry cleaning!

The *New Style* School Vest is available in a wide range of standard sizes which can all be customized for a nearly perfect fit.

Hobbie's House offered the school vest as an alternative to the sweater years before it made it's first appearance in a movie.

When we designed the *New Style* vest, we opted for stripes on the armbands to mirror the stripes found on the *New Style* sweater.

Little did we imagine that the vest would, in fact, become a part of the Wizard School uniform as seen in the last movie. Just a glimpse of it, mind you but a glimpse of a vest with solid armbands!

So...for the sake of authenticity, we now knit the *New Style* vest without any stripes on the armbands, unless otherwise specified.

Although the vests are also available in flat black acrylic [for those allergic to wool], by default, we knit the *New Style* vests in the pure wool.
