Apr 24, Knitting Patterns Login Information

Wondering how to log into the knitting patterns membership site at Hobbie's House of Wizard Wear?

It is relatively quick and easy but not instantaneous.

Fill out the form found on the knitting pattern page and within minutes you will receive the current login. The username and password changes on a regular basis.

After submitting the form, an autoresponder kicks in and a "Thank You" note appears on your computer screen. It also triggers the autoresponder to send out the actual information to your email address.

To make sure you receive all our emails, consider white listing our domain before you fill out the form.

Depending on how your email provider handles incoming email (and assuming that the spam filters are not out to grab every unrecognized email address), and how often "new" email is set to download in your account (ours is set to download new mail every 15 minutes), it may take a few minutes for your login information email to appear in your mailbox.

We are seeing 3 to 4 attempts within minutes, even within one single solitary minute - by the same person - to obtain the login information. The information is sent out automatically BUT....

for a variety of reasons, give your email some leeway to deliver the goods.

To be on the safe side, check your spam folder. Even GMail on our Google Domain Apps chucks some of our emails for unkown reasons - on a daily basis.

We've adopted the habit of checking the Spam and Trash folders first for any errant legitimate emails which have found their way to the dust bin.

We decided to test the system.

8:33 pm - Filled out the form and hit the submit button. The "Thank You" page appears automatically.

8:36pm and still no sign of the actual login information. Hit the refresh button and still not sign of the login info at 8:37 pm.

Refreshed again at 8:39 pm and still no sign of the email.

8:42pm the email has arrived. The suject line reads: Hobbie's Knitting Pattern - Login Info.

It took nine minutes for the email with the login information to be delivered.

P.S. We apologize for the total loss of formatting for the pop-up thank you page. It is obviously caught in the maelstrom of our website system update and there is nothing we can do at this time to correct the formatting.

Apr 22, June 2012 Delivery Date

On April 18, the delivery date for all new orders was advanced to June 2012.

While there is no specific date set for delivery during any given month, an order marked for delivery during June 2012, for example, will be delivered during June 2012. We process all orders in the date sequence received.

As soon as the label is created, the Post Office automatically sends out an email to the customer, provided an email was included when placing the order.

Please make a note of the email you used when placing the order. It may not be the one you use or check on a regular basis.

Any correspondence we receive and all confirmation emails are sent to the email address specified in your order.

We use this particular email address to create threaded conversations associated with the order.

Why are we mentioning this again? Because just this month, we've had several instances of total inability to communicate with customers who are obviously using several different emails. Some they check regularly and some are lost in limbo and that specific email is the only email we have to use in response to their inquiries.

Thank you.

As we close out the month of February 2012 with a shipment to the UK, we've also successfully migrated all Hobbie's House of Wizard Wear products on to wizardknits.com!

On February 21st, we took the first of several gradual steps towards a "new" wizardknits.com as we slowly migrate the website pages from the old to the new look.

Nothing radical here...just changing how we operate behind the scenes and a slight change in the visuals.

In the meantime, we even added a Support Desk which is already open for questions.

Have a comment or a question? Now you can contact us with the regular form on the Contact Us page or click on the "Support" button on the left of the screen (it will soon be available on every website page), OR fill out the form at the Support Desk and submit a request for information.

Over time, we will add information to the various forums and grow the Frequently Asked Questions forum with questions of interest to potential customers.

Happy Leap Year!

Hobbie's House is turning over a new leaf.

As of Friday, February 10, 2012, the Wizard Wear Store will close its doors.

No, we are NOT going out of business. Far from it. In fact, we started receiving new orders almost as quickly as we migrated products from the Wizard Wear Store to the website.

We would like to reassure those customers who placed orders through the Store that all outstanding orders are already in the production queue and not affected in any way by the change.

All wizard wear products available since 2002 are still available. We are simply consolidating the website content with the ordering process.

Since 2004, the ordering process was handled by a stand alone shopping cart hosted on a different website.

To streamline the entire Hobbie's House of Wizard Wear experience, visitors can now visit our main website at www.wizardknits.com, select individual products from the Table of Contents or Navigation bar, visit the product specific page, review the product description and order from the same page.

We still recommend that you contact Hobbie's House for specific sizing information and to review custom measurements.

PayPal remains our payment platform. Customers receive a PayPal payment notification (which you should print for future reference) and are then re-directed to a "thank you" page on our website. This "thank you" page is confirmation that your order has been processed by PayPal and received at Hobbie's House of Wizard Wear. Please take a minute to read the contents.

PayPal assigns transaction ID's rather than order numbers. From now on, we will identify orders in the working calendar according to the last four digits of the PayPal transaction id.

Please be sure to white-list our domain in your email software. We want to make sure you receive all responses to possible inquiries. We found that customers often send email inquiries using a different email than the address used when making the payment. We respond promptly but to an email that is rarely checked or instantly filtered to the spam or trash folders.

If you do not hear from us in a timely manner, please check your email spam filters. We reply promptly but every so often, when we receive hundreds of emails in the same day, even GMail hiccups and identifies a certain number of these messages as spam.

Thank you,
The new year has been quite busy here at Hobbie's House of Wizard Wear.

So busy in fact, that we failed to update delivery dates since December of last year.

During February 2012, we will be completing the phase out of the stand alone shopping cart we've referred to as the "Wizard Wear Store" since 2004. We are migrating all our knit products to product specific website pages at Hobbie's House of Wizard Wear. Moving from one shopping cart to another does not in any way affect orders received prior to February 2012. The existing production has not been altered.

Paypal remains our payment platform but with so few requests for money order purchases during the past two years, we are eliminating the money order payment option.

However, E-checks are still available through Paypal.

As we do at the beginning of every year, we determine which "wizard wear" items are to be removed from the store shelves altogether aka "discontinued", or gradually phased out due to lack of interest.

In some cases, our suppliers have phased out or discontinued the very materials we use in our knitwear.

In 2012, we will focus on those "wizard wear" products which remain popular with our customers as well as work on prototypes for other costuming designs we've had on the proverbial back burner.

The transfer between shopping carts is nearly complete.

From now on, you will find the current delivery date posted above the ordering buttons on each product page.

Our Facebook page is still there but we are also taking advantage of Google + to post photos, make announcements and generally keep in touch with our friends and followers.

The delivery announcement will be updated as needed on the following pages:

The Wizard Wear Blog

Hobbie's Google + page

The Wizard Scarf

The School Sweater

The Wizard School Cardigan

The School Vest

The Team Sweater

Childrens Sweaters

Socks

Orders for March 2012 delivery are coming on a regular basis. The production queue for the month is close to full.

As of 2/2/2012, the delivery date has been advanced to April 2012.

If you have questions about the changes, be sure to contact us or post your questions on the Google+ page.

Thank you,

Aug 19, Is it safe to speak of Lord Voldemort?

Lord Voldemort is a fictional character from the Harry Potter series of books and movies. He is a dark wizard who will do anything to ensure his own immortality, including murder. Lord Voldemort is so feared by the other wizards that everyone calls him as he-who-must-not-be-named. He is Harry Potter's archenemy in the film.

Voldemort tried to kill Harry after he killed Harry's parents. Nevertheless, Harry survived and was labelled "the boy who lived". The explanation for Voldemort living while trying to kill Harry is quite complex. It basically involves the fact that only Harry or Voldemort may live at one time. Irritated and scared of the prediction Voldemort attempts, numerous times, to assassinate Harry.

In the first book Voldemort took over a teacher at the school. In the second book Voldemort or Tom Riddle came back through a book to try to kill Harry in the Chamber of Secrets with a huge snake. Voldemort is a bad wizard from the Slytherin house, who fears only Dumbledore and Harry.

Lord Voldemort has no feeling whatsoever and is 100% evil with one aim to control the entire wizarding and non-wizarding worlds. This makes Lord Voldemort one of the greatest Halloween Costumes for years to come!

Voldemort Outfits Consist of the Following Pieces

Voldemort costumes will consist of your best wizard clothes and a Voldemort mask. This usually involves getting a long black robe the longer the better. You will also want a Voldemort Mask to cover your face.

You also have the hands to purchase for the costume as well. Voldemort as a dead entity must keep trying to come back from no form so his hands have long nails, bony structure, and his skin is a very pale color, almost white. You will also need a wand to complete the costume.

Robes-You'll need a large black robe. It buttons across to the right side, so what you wear underneath doesn't matter.

Face-There are some Voldemort masks out there. However , to have a more realistic look, use make-up. Use a sponge to cover the face in white to simulate Voldemort's pale skin. Add subtle hints of blue to tint the temples, jawline and a touch under the eyes.

Hair-If you are not bald try using a bald cap from your local costume shop. Or use gel to hold your hair back while you cover your head with the hood of your robes. You'll have the best Voldemort Costume if you follow those simple steps!

Recently, we discovered that nearly all our website images had been copied without prior permission onto several "less than desirable" websites.

Although our website content and images are protected by a registered copyright in effect since 2002, all images will now be watermarked and - more importantly - tracked through a reporting service. Usage parameters have been set for unlicensed images.

Some will be replaced in their original positions while others will be moved to other locations throughout our website.

Please contact us with any questions. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
