Socks...to match the Team Sweater
Simply socks...nothing fancy. These are the first in Hobbie's collection of sports socks.
A multitude of sports have protective gear including specially designed hosiery. Wizarding's fast and furious ball game is no exception. We know how dangerous it can be at times! Protective gear includes arm guards, knee pads and shin guards which protect the player's legs from knee to ankle. Socks…we all have a favorite pair but for the serious athlete participating in the next Wizarding games, these socks are an indispensable part of the team uniform. Their purpose is to pad the lower leg area directly underneath the shin guards much as the sleeve of the sweater pads the arm under the arm guards.
The top of this footed sock features the same *trapped bar* pattern seen on the trapped bar scarves. Each stripe is the same size as those seen on the *new* Team Sweater. These coordinating Sports Team Socks are now available for sale in Hobbie's Store. Other features include:
Care Instructions - Team Socks Socks are knit in 100% acrylic - Heel and toe reinforced with nylon thread. Machine wash and rinse in cold water/gentle cycle. Dry on delicate/low heat. Remove promptly. Do not wring or iron. This would be true if the socks in question were crew socks but for knee high socks, we also have to fit the shape of the leg...so we need to work with a few additional measurements, such as the circumference of the calf [at its widest part] and the total length of the sock from the floor to just below the knee cap. We recently refined the design of our sports team socks to allow for better leg shaping. Although the leg section is a ribbed stitch with considerable stretch, the ankle width cannot stretch to cover the calf at the widest part. Since we can't measure you in person, we have developed a chart using standard calf and ankle measurements to cover a range of sizes. This will help you determine the correct size to order. Finished
Sock Length
By default, the sock is knit with a solid color foot but you can customize it with contrasting heel and toe. For color reference purposes, please visit the Wizard Scarf page to view the different team colors. As with the wizard scarf, custom colors are available upon request.
