The Wizard School Vest

In fact, since 2002, the vest has become the #1 "special customizing request" from all wizards who live in warmer, and downright hot, climates.

Vests are a cool alternative to the long-sleeved wizard school sweater.

Most Anime conventions, cosplay and wizarding events take place during summer months. You dread the idea of wearing long sleeves...especially when you consider the layered look of the complete Hogwarts© student costume.

The COS styled vest seen on the right is simply a sleeveless version of the Wizard School sweater.

We trimmed the armholes with a solid band to reflect the absence of stripes on the school sweater sleeves.

As with the COS style school sweater, the lower edge of vest body and the V-shaped neckline are trimmed in boarding or day "house" colors. The stripe pattern is made up of three even rows.

The red/gold, blue/silver and green/pewter trims are knit in a dark/light/dark stripe sequence whereas the yellow/black Hufflepuff© grouping is knit in a light/dark/light sequence.

The school vests are knit of imported, high quality, 100% acrylic yarn in school grey with trim colors which are as authentic looking as possible. The yarn produces a comfy, lightweight garment.

Sadly, this particular yarn is no longer being imported and we are down to the last few ounces.

Once our supply is totally exhausted, we'll be knitting the vests using a suitable replacement fiber.

The POA styled vest is much darker in color - knit in a dark charcoal grey that is almost black. This charcoal grey has lots of character and it's an ideal background for the muted POA House colors.

These new "house" colors are darker and richer too...maroon and old gold, a dark "forest" green with pewter grey, a dark "marine" blue with silver grey and old gold with black.

Wizard School corridors and classrooms are still drafty; there is a definite chill in the air so you'll be glad to know that even the PoA wizard school vest, knit in a sports-weight wool yarn, will keep you warm and toasty.

Wool is an incredible, natural fiber. It holds its shape and color too. However, we recommend dry cleaning!

By default, we knit the PoA school vests in the pure wool. For those who are allergic to wool, we can knit the vest in a flat black acrylic yarn. Be sure to make a note of your choice of yarn when ordering. Add this preference to the "Optional Instructions" text box found within our Store's Shopping Cart.
