Order Status Calendar
Customers can now check Hobbie's House working calendar for the status of their order.
This is the easiest and fastest way to get the most current information regarding your order, which we only identify by order number.
The status calendar does not necessarily display orders in a consecutive sequence. Some orders for a particular delivery date are received more than a year in advance. Although far ahead in the order number sequence, they eventually make their way to the working calendar next to much newer orders.
Orders are also received for various, future delivery dates. There are times when our knitting Elves opt to work on and complete newer, small orders to make the most efficient use of our production schedule.
The calendar features an RSS feed so you can subscribe and keep track of any changes in the order status. Click on the link above to go directly to the feed where you can subscribe.
Please note that orders appear on the working calendar according to the labels described below.
Order Status Labels
"In Progress" indicates that the order has been started and is either in the knitting stage or final assembly stage.
As of 2006, the majority of our orders are for two items but certain In Progress orders represent orders of 4 to 8 or more individual items. The "In Progress" status label will remain in place until the entire order is completed.
Two or more consecutive orders, submitted by a single customer, within minutes of each other, and destined for the same shipping address, will be viewed as a single, multiple item order. In fact, the only result is that the customer pays two or more seperate shipping charges! These seperate orders will be also be labeled "In Progress" until all items are ready to ship.
"Shipped" orders [for continental U.S. destinations] can be tracked using the Delivery Confirmation number provided in the email automatically generated by the Post Office on the day your order ships. We do not label the order as "shipped" on this calendar until the order is packaged, and a label printed. This process automatically assigns a Delivery Confirmation number, and forwards a notification email to the addressee.
It may take up to one (1) business day for your tracking information to be posted on the Post Office website. For additional details, please review our Shipping policies.
International orders do not receive automatic notification emails from the US Post Office. We send our International customers an email detailing the Customs Declaration number associated with their package.
"On Hold" is assigned to any order [old or new] to indicate that we cannot proceed with the order as submitted until we receive an email verification from the customer. We hope that posting the order status on our calendar will prompt the customer to respond so that the order can be completed correctly and in a timely manner.
When ample lead time is available, we contact the customer 3 times [over the extended period of time]. When we do not receive any response to these tracked queries, the order is automatically refunded in full and considered "cancelled".
When the selected delivery date is approaching and the customer does not respond to our email query, we may opt to proceed with the order as submitted although the specs seem inaccurate. Under these circumstances, all sales are final and refunds will not be issued.
