Option #1 - Sew your own wizard costume

If sewing is your hobby, there is a fabulous selection of costume sewing patterns available from a variety of sources.

Many extremely talented theater and costuming artists and/or students sew the best wizard costumes.

These wickedly creative wizard fans are definitely not going for the homespun look - the finished costume is worthy of a stage production or a first place award in competition.

Their attention to detail and accuracy in design reproduction is the best and their finished outfits have to rank among the best wizard costumes.

This approach to costuming requires intermediate to advanced knowledge of sewing techniques, pattern fitting, pattern alterations [to create an authentic reproduction], patience, plenty of time, and, depending on the type of fabric and/or notions used and how elaborate you care to make the best wizard costume - a certain amount of coin of the realm.

Option #2 - Buy a Harry Potter© costume

Think eBay auctions for some good deals on costume props and accessories but also to create the best wizard costumes...robes and all!

What is the negative aspect of "buying" a costume? Lack of authenticity in materials and colors although the robes comes in at least three quality levels. What is the positive aspect? The price is bound to be much less than costuming accessories which are custom or hand made to be as authentic and realistic as possible.

What's a great site for costume rental? At AMasquerade not all Harry Potter© items are available for rent. Do you live in New Hampshire or nearby? Check out Costumes of Nashua LLC. They have a huge assortment of Hogwarts© hats. They are ideal for those who live in the New England area but they also ship across the U.S. and Canada.
