Halloween, the Renaissance Fair, Carnevale, Mardi Gras, the neighborhood costume party, your school's theater production, or better yet - a book release and the showing of the latest wizard movie.

Sew your own wizard costume...
If sewing is your hobby, then there is a fabulous selection of costume sewing patterns available from a variety of sources.
Many amazingly creative and talented artists and/or students of theater and costuming choose to sew their own costumes. These wizard fans are definitely not going for the homespun look - the finished costume is worthy of a stage production or a 1rst place award in competition.
Their attention to detail and accuracy in design reproduction is the best and their finished outfits have to rank among the best wizard costumes.
Photos found on this page represent some of their work. Included are sources for major components of the completed costume.
This approach to costuming requires intermediate to advanced knowledge of sewing techniques, pattern fitting, pattern alterations [to create an authentic reproduction], patience, plenty of time, and, depending on the type of fabric and/or notions used and how elaborate you care to make your costume - a certain amount of coin of the realm.
Join one or more of the wizard costuming groups at Yahoo Groups or Live Journal to meet these fiber artists. They discuss everything from choice of sewing pattern, design, required alterations, appropriate fabrics, authentic colors, notions, trims and accessories.
Ok. Ready, set; let's dust off the sewing machine...You are about to sew the best wizard costume.
Major pattern companies carry an extensive collection of sewing patterns but don't forget to check eBayŽ and eBayŽ Stores for wizard wear sewing patterns. You will always find a large collection of patterns there.
Option #2:
Find and purchase authentic looking costumes parts...
Buckhead Uniforms carries a skirt which comes very close, style-wise, to being an authentic reproduction of the original uniform skirt.
The skirt was then dyed to match Hobbie's 100% wool, New Style sweater. The trapped bar tie by WizardTies matches our dark blue/silver colors.
A school robe [custom made by Wizard Robes], with colors that also match those in the sweater and tie, completes the wizard school uniform.
eBay is a great source for a variety of costume pieces, especially accessories. Check the auctions listings on a regular basis!
Goes without saying that the starting point for this online shopping expedition would be the Warner Brothers shop for officially licensed products.
